The drain on a 5th gen car is in the center of the car under where the dash is. Look up by the shift rods and you'll see the drain. You can even get to the drain inside. I had been shopping for a car for my wife for the past few months. She's been driving a '99 Altima we bought used for the past 18 months and after putting $3k in repairs into it, we decided to get something newer and more reliable.

I looked at just about every compact and subcompact on the market. I suffered quite a bit of sticker shock looking at new compact cars in the process. So, I started looking at used models 1-3 years old. We basically were just looking for a 4 cylinder with manual trans, CD/stereo, A/C, and power windows and locks. We were trying to find the best (newest) car we could get in the $12k range.

We actually looked at and test drove many compact cars in the process, but had a hard time finding "The One".

Then, two weeks ago, I was scanning listings on AutoTrader and found a NEW 2012 Nissan Sentra 2.0 listed for $12,900!!! I thought it must have been a typo, but they had two listed at that price in San Antonio (both white). I called the dealership and they confirmed the price. But, before I could even drive down to see them, they were both sold.

The salesman didn't know if they would get anymore in at that price. Two days after that I found another one listed for $12,900 (magnetic grey) and quickly called and asked if they would hold it for me for 1 hour until I could get there to look at it. Well, I did get lucky this time. Test drove the car and was immediately impressed with how quiet and smooth it was on the road.

Of course, we bought it. I still can't believe we actually got this car for only $12,900! I was looking at used Hyundais that were priced higher than that.

We put 1,000 miles on it the first week and we love this car! The only thing I miss on it is cruise control. But, it seems like you can't hardly get a manual trans with cruise control anymore. Even if you can, you have to add $2-3k in options to get it. But, for the deal we got on this car, I can live without cruise. I like the 6-speed manual, the interior is nice and spacious, and it feels like a much bigger car when driving it.

I will soon be getting an alarm and window tint on it, and will replace the steel wheels and hubcaps with some larger alloy wheels once its time to replace the rubber.

Yesturday I killed my rear left tire running on a slow leak going to work. Didn't know I had a slow leak when I realized I had a flat tire. At the same time hit a bump and killed the tire right there .

I'm a proud owner of a 03 Nissan Sentra as of yesterday. Never owned a Nissan in my life. I've always been a Chevy owner/fanatic. I've owned many cars but my favorite has always been the Camaro.

My first Camaro was a 95 SS, which I wrecked on the highway by hydroplaning. Second was a 01 Z28. Sold it, needed a bigger car.

So now, I'm in a 03 Sentra. It's not an SE-R or anything, it's just your base model Sentra. It's standard transmission, with a short shifter and aftermarket exhaust. I'm here to find out more info on how to make it faster and fun. I'm not looking to make it the fastest beast out there, but make it look decent.

In today's failing economy, we are looking for ways to cut costs anywhere we can. I know that there are some apps that help you find the best gas prices. Do any of you use these apps, and if so what do you think is the best app for this purpose?

I use the one from Murphy Oil (the gas station that is generally in front of Wal-Mart).
